It’s easy to play politics by running on national issues, but I’m not interested in bringing the failures of D.C. to Georgia. I’m just a mom and a commonsense conservative, who is giving a voice to the kitchen table issues that hardworking Georgians care about in Georgia House District 81.

Keeping More Money in Your Pocket

During my time in office, I have fought to put as much money back in your pockets as possible. I voted to reduce the state income tax in the largest tax cut in state history, doubled state homestead tax exemptions, and authored legislation to increase the child tax deduction credits. I will also continue to advocate for the elimination of the state income tax altogether. I have secured funding for our local technical colleges to focus on workforce training to create quality jobs and boost our state economy. Washington has burdened our families greatly with 40-year high inflation and terrible economic policies that have only increased our grocery bills, which is why I will always advocate at the state level to implement better tax credits for our farmers and our truckers in an effort to help alleviate rising pressure on the supply chain and lower the cost of household items and groceries.

Expanding Choice in Education

During my time as your State Representative, I have fought tirelessly for universal school choice and will continue to do so because the work is not done. Ultimately, I believe parental rights come first in education and parents should have a say in what is, and is not, best for their children. I have voted to pass the Literacy Act, which put phonics back into schools to increase literacy rates of Georgia students, fully funded the HOPE Scholarship, increase the GOAL scholarship program, and increase funding for Pre-K programs. The current education system has become a breeding ground for ideologies that many parents don’t agree with, but worse than that, children’s performance ratings are steadily declining because academics have taken a back seat. I am proud to sit on the House Education committee and will continue to fight to keep the focus of education on academics, not ideologies.

Investing in Safer Communities

In my first two years in the General Assembly, I voted for our public safety officials to receive pay increases, penalties for violent criminals to be strengthened, and to make sure tax dollars are spent on Georgians, not illegal immigrants. I have voted to hold rogue DA’s accountable and provide recourse to victims across the state by supporting the Prosecutorial oversight bill. Further, I have worked to end the national security crisis of China buying Henry County’s precious farmland. When cold cases went unsolved, I voted for the Coleman-Baker Act to establish the cold case unit within the GBI and allow families to pursue justice. I believe everyone wants to live in a safe community and as long as I am elected, I will continue to advocate for better retirement benefits for our first responders, policies to improve the mental health crisis, to fund school safety, and help push back against Washington’s failed immigration policies.

Improving Traffic and Infrastructure

When I campaigned for office originally, traffic was one of my top priorities and I have sought solutions to our outdated infrastructure since day one. I have routinely met with GDOT to secure millions of dollars’ worth of traffic funding for Henry County and facilitated meetings other local officials to keep all parties informed. I have ensured that every state highway in the district is scheduled for widening or improvements (Highways 20, 42, 81 and 155) and I will continue to fight to keep those projects at the forefront. When trains were causing major delays in McDonough, I negotiated a solution to end them blocking the tracks and when Locust Grove needed money quickly for a major road improvement, I was able to deliver $3.4 Million in State funding. In my role as your State Representative, I will continue to work to alleviate these issues because I recognize our families and jobs rely on our ability to move from place to place without having to spend hours on end in traffic every day.
